Schools that have done it

I have obviously been watching and researching a lot of elementary/primary classrooms that have already integrated ipad use for every student. This one was particularly straightforward and simply asks children the question; how do you use the ipad in class? A worthwhile video.

Ipads 1:1 in 2014

My journey has already begun, but, as it is now official that the Yr 5 classes at OLA are going 1:1 ipads next year, I have been asked to keep an account of this process so that it can be easily shared with other educators. To be honest, I am hugely excited and have felt for some time that the booking and returning a school bank of ipads just wasn't cutting it - for the types of things I wanted to do with my students anyway.

I am hoping to be able to detail the ups and downs of what it's like bringing in ipads for every student in a primary setting. Many high schools have gone down this route already with success, however, it hasn't really been widely adopted across the primary schools...yet. I don't think it will be long. I'm certainly not the only teacher about to embark on this exciting learning journey.

So where to begin exactly? Well, I do currently use and enjoy a lot of educational technology and I maintain a website that showcases many of my classroom ideas. You can visit it here; http://www.jemimasaunders.com/
I do write a separate blog on the website about general education issues I encounter but this blog is intended to be mainly about the use, issues and interesting outcomes of having every student with an ipad.

I hope you enjoy it, comment or question as you like :)
